Krimmz Girls Cycling Event

In August, Krimmz Girls Youth Club, one of the founding members of our Community Advisory Panel, hosted a vibrant community cycling event in partnership with Cycling UK. The day marked the official opening of their newly allocated green space at Haslam Park, generously provided by Bolton Council for community use.

The event brought together children, families, and adults for a full day of cycling activities, from learn-to-ride sessions to guided group rides. Visitors also enjoyed free bike repairs and the ever-popular “Big Bike Brunch.”

Creating a festival-like atmosphere where cycling and community spirit took centre stage.

Founder Khadija Patel reflected: “What a fantastic day with Cycling UK at our community cycling event today. We welcomed children for learn-to-ride sessions, supported adults on a led ride, and saw families getting their bikes fixed while enjoying our Big Bike Brunch. It was inspiring to see so many people of all ages coming together, trying out a variety of bikes, and celebrating active living.”

The Mayor of Bolton joined in the celebrations, even trying out an inclusive bike. The day highlighted how cycling can empower communities, build confidence, and inspire joy—on two wheels or three.
